What is a newb.. my bf says it all the time when hes playing video games..
and also what is pwned.. he says that one also..!!! im to embarrased to ask him.. i just laugh along with him.. so he thinks i know what hes talking about..!!!

In videogames, a newb means they lack experience in the game. Powned means they were beaten in an embarassing manor.

A newb (or also a noob) is short for a newbie. They are someone who is new to the game, are a low level, and/or are very bad at the game. Pwned is when someone is beaten in a very embarrassing fashion, or were beaten way too easily!!

Newb = Anyone who is new at something.
pwned = When you get scored on or beat by another player.
Also, side advice. If your BF says these "all the time", you should get a new BF. These terms are so over used now, they're not even a cool words anymore.

Pwned means "owned".
If your playing something like Halo and you frag someone good...they are "pwned".

I know newb (or noob in some cases) means newbie - they're new to the whole thing and don't know what the hell they're doing. Don't know what pwned is - unless you meaned "owned"?

a newb is someone who is new to a game and not very good at it most people get called it on xbox live when someone doesnt like them and pwned is when he like massivly owns someone or beats them or is better then them so there ya go and now ya know

pwned - ??? haven't heard of this.
my suggestion is you call is a doofler. There's no such word, but some people are so stupid that they'll go along with it, and it sounds like a legimite word anyway.l
