Cetaphil is great and the liquid much better than bar soap. You also need to clean it several times a day with alcohol or peroxide.

Soap of any kind is a very outdated aftercare method. The current recomendations (for the last 5 years or so) is to use only sea salt soaks to clean the piercings. The reasoning behind this is that soaps are harsh and dry out piercings. Also, you need to move the jewelry around to clean out all of the soap, which prolongs healing and causes scar tissue to form.

To do a proper sea salt soak, add 1/8 tsp non-iodized sea salt to 8 oz warm water and soak for 10 mins 2-3 times per day. Your piercing will heal much faster and will look better in the long run.

African black soap and Cetaphil don't reduce acne. Use an acne cream etc.

I think it would be fine, its a very gental cleaner. I use peroxide even though they told me not to, they recomended using a mixture of warm water and salt. Hope it heals fast.
