Excess!
I think all three of your options are required in a healthy diet. But there are differences in some of the types of sugars and fats. You should for the most part avoid fats that are solid at room temperature, such as lard, or margarine. Yes it is better to choose real butter over mararine because margarine contains partially hydrogenated oils. But on the other hand there are some really good fats such as olive oil. Olive oil is not only considered by health experts as a healthy oil but it also has a strong flavor requireing less to produce a good tasting meal.
Sugars are needed in some quantities to give us engergy, but processed sugars should be avoided.
And salt has been a staple in human diets since humans have been eating.
All in all the worst nutritional no-no is excess of just about anything.

I think the soda-has-calories thing is an issue because most people would rather eat their calories than drink them. And while water has no nutritional value, it is absolutely NECESSARY to keep you alive. Soda is not, and the "water" within soda is not processed like water; it's processed like soda. No, the food is not the issue, but people are lazy. They think they are entitled to everything without working for it. And it's a lot easier to blame others rather than yourself. Regarding your analogy with fast food versus broccoli and fish, that's true to an extent. Eating only fast food will give you extra fat that is stored on your body and clogs your arteries, it gives you extra sodium which bloats you and makes you retain water (thereby showing an increase on the scale), and it provides unhealthier versions of carbs. Broccoli and fish are much healthier and will be processed much more efficiently by the body. Calories aren't everything. For weight loss, yeah, you need to pay attention to them, but the other nutrients are important as well.

Sugar hands down. Their are healthy fats, and salt is part of our human make-up. Sugar is the worst bc/ of the hardening of ateries, empty calories which give us an instant boost, but then make us crash shortly afterwards. Sugar is addictive and does not make you as full as fat so you can eat more and still feel hungry. Don't forget also that sugar, if not metabolized, turns into the fat that sticks to our thighs, guts, upper arms, and love handles. It's definitely sugar.

Excessive intake of any of those over extended periods of time can lead to the 3 biggest killers, i.e. too much fat = heart disease, salt = hypertension, sugar = diabetes but I think heart disease is the number one killer so I would probably say fat but the other two are close behind...

Salt. Our diets do not require any excess sodium other than what is already naturally occuring. Our bodies require certain amounts and types of fats and sugars to be nutritionally healthy and for energy purposes, but we do not need any extra sodium. Not to mention, high sodium intake is associated with diseases such as hypertension.

salt is the worst - its sodium and makes you retain water and is bad for intestines and respiratory system
sugar is bad - but not that bad, we can have it once in a while. its bad for diabetics.
fat is needed in body (healthy fats) for skin, hair and brain.
too much of nothing is good so i was thinking like 5g of each - which would be worse.
