And what if there was no place called Atlanta in 19th century America?
There is no record of a place called Nazareth until the 1st century AD. The New Testament refers to it as a ‘city’, but it is not mentioned in any contemporary historical documents, including the exhaustive list of every city, town, and village in Galilee compiled by the historian Flavius Josephus. Nor is it mentioned a single time in the Old Testament.
Using the same anecdotal and coincidental criteria of evaluating evidence that Christians do, this would seem to reveal the Bible to be a quasi-historical work of fiction – just like Gone with the Wind.

Because in a believer's mind, reason is the handmaiden of God. Science has value when and only when it is supporting beliefs already revealed. So of course, when a part of reality is found that has some vague connection to one of the tribal legends, why...The Very Laws of Nature Itself Prove the Scripture.
The exact opposite also proves true. When historical fact detracts from the legend, say such as not a single record of Jewish captivity in Egypt, it means nothing "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" of course.

Kind of reminds me of those Psychics, and Palm Readers -who generalize on questions to the individual situations. Touching on subjects, or information and only expanding on them when they're certain they have seen a reaction from you.
Guess I need to believe and take them seriously too.

It is only evidence.
Many have called the Bible a lie because no evidence of certain geographic locations could be verified. You had to be there.
