have a big problem and hope someone could help me with it.
I have a program that I uninstalled a few months ago to clear up space in my hard drive.

Anyways, I have a school project coming up and require the use of this program so I tried to install it again today but it won't because the program wasn't completely uninstalled the last time I did it.

I tried uninstalling the program but the uninstall button (.msi) is gone! Does anyone know how I can completely get rid of any traces of this program on my computer so I could install it again on my cmputer? Thank you for your help!

I looked for the folder and deleted it, it's not in my Start>Program List but it's still in my Add/Remove list but there's no "uninstall" button.

I need a program or method to do a complete clean of this program so I may reinstall it on my computer. I can't reinstall this on my computer because it keeps on saying there's already a copy installed.

No no, the thing is I uninstalled this program about 3 months ago and only tried to reinstalled it today. When I try to reinstall it, it keeps on saying the program is already installed!

It's driving me nuts! I need this program to work on a school project that will be due soon. I don't want to reformat my computer as well. This sucks! :(

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update you with my progress.

I FIXED the problem! Well sort of. I didn't use any fancy program or mess around with my Registry.

I did a system restore a chose to restore my computer's configuration back to 1 month ago and everything is good again! I was able to install the program without any problems.

Thank you to everyone who helped me. I really appreciate it! Maybe this thread may help someone with a problem similar to mine. If all else fails, try a system restore!

Were you careful to restart after every step:
remove program
restart
reinstall
?
Hey, it's easy to forget. With that said, here are a couple ways to supposedly completely remove a program:

This one is a little too technical for me but perhaps you are knowledgeable enough to use it.

There are a couple things you could try.

1.) Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
Find the program in question on this list and use this utility to uninstall the program, if it is there. If not, then,

2.) if you remember what the name of the program was, or where it was installed on your computer, find the folder it was installed into and delete the folder manually (Don't forget to empty your recycle bin afterwards, too). Also, use the search function (Windows Key + F or Start > Search) to find any files or folders with the same name as the program and delete them, as well (be careful when you delete files; make sure they are only related to that program).

Let us know how things go.

I remove with the uninstall feature for the program first, then to Add/Remove programs to see if it's still listed, and finally over to Windows Explorer, Programs, and finally from Common files if it's listed in there.
