I have several uncles and cousins who used to stutter. Some are married and have wonderful wives who weren't turned off by their stuttering. They were supportive and helped them learn to overcome their stuttering over time and with the help of The Stuttering Foundation's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer." Anyone who is rude enough to get on a cell phone during a conversation is not worth your time. You should not feel any embarrassment. Other people reacting in a rude way to your speech is their problem. Once you find someone who really cares about you, you'll find that they won't care about any stuttering moments. The best relationships are those "made in heaven" so pray that you will know when the right one comes along.

My whole life I had a very slight stutter and I had no problem with women. They ranged from short relationships to very long relationships and now I'm married. My stuttering tended to go away as I got older, I'm now 47. The only time now when my stuttering comes slightly back is when I tend to get a bit nervous , but it is not that often. Just take it from a person who did stutter that it will go eventually away as you get older. At least it did for me. Good luck to you !!

No, that wouldn't turn me off to a man. Only a shallow twit would be turned off because a man stutters. My former brother-in-law stuttered and he is one of the nicest, kindest people you could ever want to know. And I have known other people who stuttered. If someone shys away from you because you stutter, that is not a person who is worthy of you.
People who have character and depth would never make someone feel bad because they stutter.

The only thing that bothers me about guys who stutter (well, the one time I ran across a guy who stutters) was how uncomfortable he seemed! I'm afraid that's just a reflection of my own social skills and self-esteem though - I really liked him, but I didn't know how to put him at ease. Perhaps that was her problem?
My hero, John Stossel, used to stutter. He seems to be doing pretty good! :)

Aww, you poor guy!!
I find it kind of cute that a guy is interested in me enough that he can't even find the words to express what he feels for me, or can't get them out of his mouth at least. If it doesn't get better, I'll admit that I'd get annoyed, but after you spend some time with a girl you don't do that, right? Don't be discouraged, keep trying to form your words in one try! Haha, but there's a girl out there that you're going to feel so comfortable around, stuttering won't even come to mind. Hope you find her soon.

Well, I find shy guys are really cute.
I won't mind the stutters, but there is limits to it. A girl wouldn't feel comfortable either, if you're not. You should try speaking to more girls to get use to it more. I hope next time, you'd be able to hide it, and play it cool...
