Matthew 7
24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
28When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

Not impressed. I do not believe anyone ever said that, I believe it was poetic license. Sounds great, but I don't believe a word of it.

The above verses can be interpreted in various ways. First, Jesus tells us that those that abide by his words and basically practise what they preach will be one that is appreciated more by those around them.
The verses don't directly make referance to building a solid foundation for a house, but also a solid foundation on the way we live our lives and the things we say.
Using the basis that by telling the truth and doing what is right, will mean never having to falter from the foundation upon what you base your facts and principals.
When telling the truth, and living a wholesome and honest life, one will never have to worry that false words or statements made by others against you will sway all that believe in you.
Our lives are to be solid in foundation and our principals must be rightous in order to live the lives we are expected to by Jesus' words.

Can be applied to all of life's endeavors.
There is nothing the Master said that didn't make sense.
However, to follow Him is another thing altogether.
It's like the man who stopped to ask Him....I am rich, what should I do?
"Give all your wealth to the poor and follow me".
He couldn't do it.
Once the rich decide it's time to help those they've exploited, my my, what a wonderful world will emerge.

To believe he was tripping. Alot of wise stuff is said while high. He was on a beach, atop a rock. Yeah, he was tripping out good. On what? I don't know. Opium from china maybe.
These words, not that wise. Just kinda saying: Believe me, I know what i'm talking about.

If you build your life on Christ Jesus who is the Rock, you will never fall and you won't cave in, if you build it on other things it will surely fall and crash!

That one should have a solid foundation on which to build. This is good architectural (and spiritual) advice.

i believe it is telling us to build our life on Jesus for the bible states that he is the "stone the builders rejected" therefore i and all people should try not to sin and believe that he is the Christ, the son of god.
