Adults are a very concerned bunch anymore. I've been there. I was a morbid teenager too. I know that the image that you may be trying to portray is one of the tough, not afraid of death/dying, see how far you can push the limit variety, but the best advice I can give you is relax a little bit. Go through the motions of what the psycho ward wants you to go through, you've learned your lesson. In the future, chill out on the image a little bit, I know you are trying to find out who you want to be, but the sissy friends are not the ones you want in your circle if you choose to push the limits of their conciousness. Some kids just don't get it. I wish you luck, you seem to have your head on straight, and refuse the meds if you think any of the diagnoses are crap (you may be young but you do have a choice in any "treatment" options because you are the patient.)

In all honesty, no it was not stupid. They were looking out for your best interest.
One thing I don't understand is how the school could directly send you to the hospital. They should've contacted your parents to get their consent. Did this happen?
You might have to follow up with therapy. They will want to know why you brought the poems to school. They will try to find out why they were appealing to you. It will be good for you. I know that's not the answer you wanted, but I am being honest here. If you are going through something, please be open and honest. People are out there to help you, not to harm you.

In today's world, even liking or reading certain things is effectively illegal. Your punishment was to be sent to a prison (or mental hospital, as some like to call it).
So yes, it's wrong, but lots of things are wrong with this world. You're also not allowed to question global warming or admit that you vote Republican. I don't make the rules; rather I'm just letting you know what they REALLY are.
Your best approach is to pretend that you don't like that poem and go along with whatever your captors want to hear.

The school has a responsibility to protect you whether it be from yourself or someone else. Your friends probably thought they were doing the same. You ending up in a mental hospital for this though sounds a little like someone overreacted. After all, isn't this something that a guidance counselor is there for?

Why did you want them in the first place? All your friends and teacher did was try to protect you. No one is going to take a chance in today's world that it was only a joke or other such reason. As it is, if the teacher hadn't notified the authorities, he could have been fired.
So, No, I don't think it's stupid. What happened is what's called "due dilligence".

well it depends on how you feel about those poems. do you wish you were like the people in them? then face it. you need help. if not then how come you brought them to school? personally, i think cutting yourself and suicide are stupid choices: a permanent solution to a temporary problem

Personally, As long as you didn't write them, I don't see why they would ahve sent you there...hummmm....the only thing I can think of, is it's because of your saftey, and no one want's to lose you....I guess they thought, "Well, why would she even want to bring in these poems?..." I don't know! lol But it's NOT stupid, no way....and heck, if people would see the stuff my hubby and I Write...we'd be there for life! LOL but we don't mean anything by it....anyway, our poems are held personal...no one sees them, because of that....and not only that, but it's just expressing how other's might feel....not ourselves...words just pop into our heads, and we start writing....ANYWAY! this isn't about me....no, its not stupid....Take Care...
