I'm trying to install an old computer game on my current computer. It's Gizmos and Gadgets, released about 10 years ago, meant for windows95. I want to install it on my laptop which runs off of windows xp.

i installed it on my computer, but when i try to run it, it says that it cannot locate my/the correct MIDI file. and then closes down. it does not even give me the option of trying to locate a MIDI file.
what should i do?

Create a MIDI file & put it into the directory where it can't find the missing file. Name the file the same name as the missing one.

You cant, by your description, your software requires direct access to the sound hardware using the soundcard software installed, where XP uses direct-x as a layer so your software will never see the MIDI hardware.
