I think it's great that the people that live there love there land so much. You can tell that Israelis and Palestinians both really love the land. Since they both love the land so much, why not just split it in half 50/50, so they both have equal amounts?

Ummm... no.

Why doesn't Israel just abide by the United Nations resolution 242 and return to their pre-1967 borders?

Alleged non conformance of UN Security Council Resolutions is considered grounds for war in some parts. (*cough* Iraq *cough*)

------

Edit:

Some of you really have no idea what you're talking about.

"God gave the land to the Jewish people..."
Why is your God dictating the foreign policty of the United States? Yet another reason why the United States was based on secularism!

And mantazma's craziness? "Israel just wants to have peace?" (Then why isn't Israel abiding by the peace accords?) "attacking Israel a week after it became a country" (Did the land just magically appear there empty in 1948?)

What would Americans do if world opinion felt so sorry for all the suffering the Palestinians have been through and Russia along with the majority of the rest of the world supported the creation of a Palestinian state in Maryland. Washington DC would become an International city. The United States completely disagreed with the settlement. What would Americans do?

It may appear as though I'm laying all the blame on Israel, but that is not the case at all. I just can't stand by while people (Americans mostly) put all the blame on the Arabs and imagine Israel as some sweet and innocent little country. (Lavon Affair anyone?) The reality is that both sides have to learn to make concessions. The object of war is to secure a better peace. There is nothing peaceful about what is going on over there.

After WWII the Jew's had nowhere to flow, so England pronounced, nicely, they might flow to Palestine, they went to Palestine, situation replaced into, Arab's have been already residing there, and you cant alright kick somebody out of their residences and replace them with thousands and thousands of Jews, so what occurs, Palestine fights for his or her residences, Israel makes use of this as an excuse to "shield" themselves against the Palestinians and fights decrease back, and this starts off a on no account finishing conflict... THE LAND BELONGS TO PALESTINIANS

Uhh, lets just make Jerusalem and international city, give Israel the rest of the territory and Palestinians can live in Jerusalem or in the many near-by Arab states.

The fact is the Palestinians and their Arab allies have lost every single conflict against Israel, and Israel just wants to have peace, however, despite loosing in numerous conflicts using dirty tactics (terrorism, ganging up, attacking Israel a week after it became a country) many Arab nations refuse to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. However, it is unfair that Israel is there in the first place, the only reason Israel exists is because of sympathy after the Holocaust. And the nation of Israel was thrust upon the Palestinians.

Jerusalem has been the target of wars for over 1000 years, just make it an international city and that will hopefully solve most of the conflicts.

No there is no indication that either really love the land. They both love to fight for the land. That's about it. That is the silliest damn thing I have ever heard. God determined who the land should go to in a pigs ear. The land will belong to the stronger side. Who can take it. Land has always belonged to the taker throughout history.

I don't agree with your 50/50 idea. The land belongs to the Jewish people so I'm more likely to support a 100/0 proposal with the Pali's getting nothing except perhaps a ticket to Lebonon, Syria or Egypt.

I just cannot understand why people waste their lives fighting over land. What's the point? Why can't they just be happy with what they have? This land will only be a temporary thing, they will leave it all behind when they die.

Pretty obvious you don't actually know a whole lot about the situation

Take an International relations course or better yet just do a little research

First of all, God already determined who the land goes to.

Secondly, neither side wants to share.

The land belongs to the Palestinians. Why should they have to give up 50% of what is rightfully theirs?
