I've always been around the average BMI for my height but I have to wonder seeing all the girls trying to be skinny, will that make me feel better? Should I try to lose weight?

NO NO NO

You need to realize that most girls seem to do what they think the guys will like and that is the worst thing to do because that is giving meaning to something that is NOT TRUE at all.

Having been through all these stages recently (as a guy) I am telling you now that there are more guys out there looking for girls the normal size they should be rather than way too skinny.

Who the heck wants a skelaton on his arm? Not any guy I know that is worth any effort to know. Those that do are not worth your time or thought...seriously...

..know yourself..be yourself and only accept nothing less of anyone you would like to be friends or more with..why waste your time trying to be fake when you can have real relationships!

Don't listen to any of the hype nor the media in any form.

Be exactly who you are, stay healthy, don't get into all the media hype and you will come out on top of the game...I promise.

Best Regards,
Shanon - yes a Shanon guy with a weird spelling :)

You don't need to jump on the skinny band-waggon, Being skinny has nothing to do with how you feel physically but more of yourself confidence, if you're not overweight then you have nothing to worry about. As long as you stay in shape you don't have to be skinny to feel good! If you're average around your BMI (not being over weight) just keep yourself active and the best way to make yourself feel better is eat healthy!

Keep in mind dieting could change your matabolism so if you're healthy now enjoy it don't try to change yourself if there's nothing to be changed!

well, what's your height and weight? i've pretty much been under my bmi for my entire life and well.... i dont really feel.... better, becuase skinny doesn't have to do with feeling better about anything, i have a lot of back problems, shoulder problems, etc. that has nothing to do with my skinnyness, so no... being skinny doesn't make me feel better b/c i have so many other problems. and my sister whose 5'7 and 105 lbs DEFINITELY doesn't feel better. all she can thikn about is how skinny she looks and she never wears short sleeves because she knows how seriously thin she looks, so i think being average is the best thing ever!

If you are in the healthy range for your bmi and weight then be happy. Its very attractive to have a few curves. Those girls that look like tooth pics are not attractive at all. Eating healthy makes you feel better!

Media and fashion influence people on what is sex-appealing, therefor encouraging women to be thin.

Would it make you truly feel better? No. Beauty is an abstract thing andeven though we are all somewhat influenced by the media, the celebrities, we all have an individual point of view on whats beatiful and whats not.

For example, I have a thing for men with crooked teeth.

You know, if your feeling great now, Dont bother. Will being skinnier make you happier? No- You create your own happiness, not others.

When you are too thin or skinny you don't have the energy you need to get through the day. Being too skinny is just as bad if not worse than being overweight. Think about, excess fat looks as bad as flabby skinny. Your best bet is to be healthy, toned and active.

Good luck!

The problem with those girls is that they are insecure. They start losing weight thinking it'll make them feel better about themselves and when it doesn't, they try to lose more and more. You can be obese and feel good about yourself or skinny and feel bad. Don't try to lose weight to fit in.

No, eating healthy makes you feel better. Wanting to be skinny and doing dramatic things to do so (ex. Anorexia, bulimia...ect) is concieded, never the less unhealthy. God made you the way you are, and taking care of that body by healthy diets and exersise is good, but to do someting dramatic is bad, and should be a sin.

Thats just my opinion, hope I didnt offend anyone!!! =]

Yes, it makes me feel better. Honestly because being at a healthy weight and exercising makes you feel so good. Exercising is like a high, but a good high.

One bad thing about being skinnny, is people are always jealous and think you're anorexic. Being thin can be a state of mind, and not everyone who is thin is healthy.

skinny and curvy are used so randomly that it is not uncomplicated to respond to your question. If somebody who's a length 6 says she's "curvy" it somewhat is one element, yet while somebody is the size of Rosie O'Donnell it somewhat is diverse. Curvy is used plenty for fat human beings to hide at the back of.
