I am buying a lacy comforter set. They have two colors, white and ivory. Should I buy the ivory set with white sheets and white pillows, or should I buy the white set with ivory sheets and ivory pillows? They also have a valance in white or ivory, argh, I hate decisions...

If you want to mix it, I'd do the white comforter set with ivory sheets. Try to get some throw pillows with white and ivory so it looks intentional - mixing two colors that are so close can look like a mistake if you don't tie them together somehow. Shades of whites/creams/ivories can be really pretty though - pick what makes you happy!

Well...it depends on how big your room is and if you want a light room or a dark room. Obviously, darker colors will make it look darker and smaller. Sounds like you have alot of dark tones already--with your walnut flooring, dark espresso furniture and comforter. Me---I would paint the walls a soft blue color to play off of the pale blue lines in your comfortor.. Benjamin Moore has a color called "Silver Mist". It is beautiful and would look gorgeous on your wall. You could go a tint up or down with your ceiling, meaning lighter or darker than the wall. Yes, do a contrast on your sills. That would look sharp !! Beige would be boring---in my opinion. Have Fun with your Remodel !!

it sounds like the exact same thing to me... why would you mix white with ivory, though? why not get it all in the same shade?
