Rolaids are fine too...Tums are better because of the calcium in them. Try the smooth tums..they seem to be less chalky than the regular one. Also, try changing the flavors up every once in a while, like one day have the berry flavor andthe next the cocoa and cream. It helped megetover the monotiny of one flavor.

I have the answer for you, but first, don't ask your doctor about this because he really won't understand this issue. That may sound arrogant, but it is very true.
Antacids are the last thing you want to take, especially being pregnant. You need to make sure you are not deficient in omega 3 fatty acids. The fetus pulls these nutrients from you to develop it's nervous system. When the doctor tells you not to each fish and take a multivitamin or some dream pill called prenatal vitamins, please don't follow this advice.
First, the multivitamins or prenatal vitamins are as useless as trying to make mud by throwing a handful of dirt into the ocean.
Synthetic vitamins are nothing more than chemical activators and not nutrients. I would not eat farm raised fish, but would eat a lot of wild fish for the omega 3 fatty acids. I would stay completely away from local grocery store meats. These meats are from Angus cattle grown in grain feed lots and are loaded with high omega 6 fatty acids, hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides from the grains they are fed! I would eat beef from Grass Fed Cattle because this beef is very high in omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin K & E, as well as CLA and Vitamin B12. Very good for you.
Now about the antacid thing and why you are experiencing this. Your hormones are raging when you are pregnant. If you are deficient in nutrients, your body is going to react. The acid indigestion is not from stomach acid, but LACTIC ACID that is from rotting, undigested foods due to the lack of Stomach Acid.
The drug companies make billions of dollars each year on this ignorance. As we age, we produce less and less stomach acid. By the time we are 80 years old, we only produce about 5% of the stomach acid we produced at the age of 30. This causes food to not be digested and it sits there and rots producing lactic acid from the fermentation process. The lactic acid can be eliminated by taking Betaine HCL (stomach acid) after each meal. This gets rid of any so called "acid indigestion" within a few minutes. If you take the drug company "antacids," you will neutralize the lactic acid, but the food will continue to rot and leave toxins that your body will have to deal with. You will then have to take more drug company products to deal with those issues!
I would strongly suggest not taking the "purple pill," tums, or any other of those garbage drugs that make your body sick from the toxins and compacted feces that are a result of taking that trash.
Our bodies were designed to eat uncooked foods, raw vegetables, etc. Since we cook our foods, we need to add this form of HCL to our diet. Additionally, if you take a quality potassium activator with this HCL, you will remethylate your cells and add years to your life expectancy.
I would suggest purchasing the Betaine HCL & Activator from a company like the one at: www.healthline.cc
They sell one of the best forms of this product in my opinion. Taking 2 Betaine HCL & 1 Activator, 1 digestive enzyme after each meal will solve your problem in about 3 minutes.
Additionally, I would suggest you look at the "super food trio" this company sells. It has virtually all the nutrients you need and contains the EFA's (essential fatty acids you need in balance for that new baby). I would order the capsule form instead of the powder form as it's easier to take.
good luck to you

My daughter says try eating 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter washed down with 1/2 glass of milk. I don't know why this worked for her but she says it was the only thing that did. Also try sleeping with your head elevated a little. You might try ginger tea too.

Go to the store and purchase those chalky, soft mints like you see at weddings, etc. The mint helps calm down stomach acid.
