I think that on this site when evolution is mentioned it is referring to Macroevolution which means an organism can transform over eons of time into a completely different kind of organism. This is an unconfirmed Hypothesis. There are no real proven transitional fossils found----all are questionable.
On the other hand, Microevolution is the theory that natural selection can over time, take an orgnism and transform it into a more specialized SPECIES of that organism. Much evidence to support this. God built into the genetic code of creatures the ability to change to adapt in order to survive.
God is the Creator of life.

I have an undergraduate degree in biology which I received over 30 years ago. The definition of the evolution theory has changed so many times it is hard to keep up with the current definition. Someone on here recently said that the new definition is related to the allele frequence of genetic mutation.
My point is how can one agree or disagree with something that has a constantly changing definition. Everytime a definition of evolution has been proven wrong it is just changed to a different definition.

Some Christians may use the term of evolution by referring to it as Theistic Evolution. Theistic Evolution is where God used Evolution to create life. This may be the solution to the battle between evolution and God.

angeltress, do you realize that scientists and freethinkers were persecuted, burned at the stake, etc.
Galileo was ordered to stand trial on suspicion of heresy in 1633. The sentence of the Inquisition was in three essential parts:
Galileo was required to recant his heliocentric ideas; the idea that the Sun is stationary was condemned as formally heretical. He was ordered imprisoned; the sentence was later commuted to house arrest. His offending Dialogue was banned; and in an action not announced at the trial and not enforced, publication of any of his works was forbidden, including any he might write in the future.
you don't know where all the animosity comes from?

If I'm being asked if animals and plants change, on a minor scale and/or adapt in some way I can see that as plausible. If we are talking about the Big Bang and single celled organisms evolving into man I would have to say no. I don't believe in that. Believing that mankind developed randomly from a single cell requires more faith than belief in God.

Evolution is; the change in allele frequency over time in a population of organisms. Natural selection is; the differential survival of replicators, who pass on to progeny their differentiations.

maybe God used the Big Bang to create the universe and evolution to create life. Either way, evolution doesn't prove or disprove God's existance, since it is a scientific theory and not theological teaching. Genesis doesn't specifically tell us HOW God created life, but rather focuses on God as the creator of everything, which is most important. Since I believe that God is the author of the universe and all its laws, science just discovers what God created! God bless.

Faith is the substance of fossils hoped for, the evidence of links unseen. Those supposedly omniscient scientist who still teach evolution as though it were fact are finally seen for what they are frail men willing to believe a lie because it helps them avoid the truth. Peace out...............

Are you arguing that evolution happens, yet it would be impossible for a new species of apes to evolve given, say, 10 million years?

ummmm ok first off, please write sentences not like running on. second. evolution, selective breeding, occurs. i am a result of hitler trying to make pure race. ( i think so i hope not Though!) short people tend to marry short people, and same with tall and medium sized. AND NO I WAS NOT ONCE AN APE, NOR WERE MY PARENTS OR ANYONE IN MY PAST. NONE OF THEM WERE "CAVEMEN" THIS IS AN ENTIRELY DIF. SPECIES THAT WAS MOST LIKELY JUST REAAAAALY DUMB PEOPLE WITH BIRTH DEFFECTS SO THEY INTERBREEDED.
