i am going to put a brand new turbo kit in my ford focus zx5 and i was wondering if anyone new how much boost the engine can handle without forged pistons

Don't go over 8 psi. The rods break at 9 psi according to some tests.

Also keep in mind that most turbo kits will make you fail emissions tests, where as the supercharger kits won't, at least according to Focus Sport.

well i don't know for certain on your engine but if it's a stock engine i'd keep under 10 closer to 6-8psi just so you don't blow your engine. but i think eagle makes rods and pistons. i'm not sure where do look for the valve train on your car. but build those up and you can increase your boost.
