I just bought this navigator and noticed I have a red flashing light to the left of the instrument cluster. It is directly behind the turn signal lever. Any ideas what this is...I have read the manual and no where in it does it tell you what this light is for. It is flashing once every two seconds or so. In the security section it talks about the red LED up on the dash, the one that is for the anti theft system. That ones seems to work just like the manual says. I did the system check with the buttons and everything comes up OK. I also found a small push button switch down below near the hood release, but right by the door. When I pushed this button when the vehicle was running I heard a click and the blinking light stopped. Any idea what this light is indicating? I thought maybe oil reset but there is nothing in the manual about one.

Vehicle was purchased from a dealer ship and CarFax report show only one previous owner and it was a business vehicle, so nt sure if they would have put an alarm on it..maybe

Bradley- thank you for detailing your question so thoroughly.
Based on the description i can assume that the Navigator was pre-owned.
A previous owner has installed an anti-theft/alarm. The button down below is known as a "valet" switch, & temporarily deactivates the anti-theft system.
Since this was not original manufacturer equipment, it would not be listed in the owners manual.
The previous owner should have supplied a manual for the system installed.
Do you also have keyfobs for the alarm?
Did you buy it from a dealer or a private party?
You may be able to contact the prev. owner for a manual or if you bought from a dealer, they may be able to contact the prev. owner for you. But first double check through the packet of booklets & owners manuals for a supplemental manual for this system.
I hope this helps

it is possible that the switch could of been either the gas tank cover or the rear hatch. either way they could of not been closed well. my grandparents have an 07 town car and on the dash it has a red light if a door or something is open and a yellow light like when the system check is being ran. it could be this, i really dont know. i am just telling you what i think. if anything, take it to the dealer and ask....dont make an appointment or anything, just ask your salesman and he will point you in the right direction. good luck and God Bless!

the fee of flash is controlled by potential of the resistance in the circuit. The LED consume decrease cutting-edge so the circuit thinks the bulb has blown. i don't comprehend the answer yet flashing too quickly is an MOT fail in uk.
