My son has the same fever symptoms... I've been following the dosing of motrin every 6 hours and he's been drinking plenty of fluids... I WOULD NOT recommend giving tylenol/motrin every two hours that's very dangerous to do especially with children. DEATHS Have been reported from overdosing of children... Give your child a cool bath and fluids if it doesn't go down make an appt. with pediatrician....

A fever without any other symptoms is generally not something to be overly concerned about. Fever is actually the body's natural defense in fighting virus and bacteria and it is not even necessary to try to lower it unless it is causing discomfort or spikes high. Children can go as high as 104-105 and still be fine. If her fever does go down after taking Motrin and/or Tylenol, even if it doesn't go down to normal, that is still a good sign that the fever is doing it's job. If she is eating, drinking, and sleeping fine, my guess is that she just has a little "bug" that her body is doing a good job at fighting. If she is too warm, you can also try a slightly warm bath, dressing her in light-weight pajamas (or one of yours or your husband's t-shirts - my kids loved to sleep in one of them when they were sick), and giving her something cool, like a Popsicle to help cool her down and make her more comfortable. Cool washcloths on her forehead, neck, and wrists, help, too. I have seen children with fevers, but no other symptoms. I have also seen typical fever producing illnesses with no fevers (particularly my middle daughter who never ran a fever with any of her ear infections and only some times when she had strep throat). ADDED: Please, please do NOT give your daughter any more Motrin and Tylenol than is recommended on the label without a physician's guidance. Even when we took our then 7 year old daughter to ER 2 years ago with 104.8 fever accompanied by delirious behavior, the ER docs did not even give her medication every 2 hours. They preferred to give a professional dose of Motrin along with taking off all covers and as much of her clothes as possible. It took 3 hours for her fever to begin to subside. Then she began to come around and was able to eat 3 popsicles and felt a little better. We never did find out what was wrong with her, all blood work, urine samples, and throat cultures came back normal.

I would take her to the doctor to be sure. Sometimes in a girl that age it isn't uncommon to have a urinary tract infection. Sometimes the only sign can be unexplained bouts of fever. Not saying that is what is wrong with your daughter, but it is possible, so I would have it checked out. It wouldn't hurt. There are other things that can cause fever and no other symptoms that should be ruled out.

youngsters can tolerate lots bigger fevers than adults. So i does no longer difficulty too lots, inspite of the shown fact that, i could keep him homestead, remoted to sidestep unfold of any an infection he might have. If the fever tendencies in direction of 104, supply him tepid bath baths, enable him play interior the bathtub for an hour or with the purpose to relax him certainly, supply him youngster's tylenol and watch him. i will wager he will quickly strengthen different warning signs.

My son was running a fever for days on end, and even blood tests turned up no diagnosis. It turned out to be Roseola. I'm not saying that's what your daughter has, but that is one illness that is characterized by a fever and no other symptoms. If the doctor is at a loss (like mine was), ask if it could be that.

My seven year old is going through the same thing right now. She has had a fever since sat, and the highest it has got was 103. SHe has no other symptoms, other than the fever and she is tired. I have just been keeping motrin/tylenol every 2 hours. It keeps it down, but only for the 2 hours. I dont know what is going around-best of luck with you

From the other answers it looks like there is a common reason for this, hope the doctor can help you out, but I was curious -respectfully so - what kind of thermometer you are using and if you have checked to see if it is still functioning correctly.
