what is AIM? how does it work?

i hear about it, but what kind of features does it have? is it worth downloading? i have Yahoo Messenger....is it better?

AIM is just another instant messenger by AOL. If you know anyone on AOL, then that is your best bet.

Just another messanger program, it's kinda locked in with AOL Internet.
