I work my shoulders, biceps, tricpes, and back three times a week. Then my calves, abs, and lower body muscles three times a week. So I do upper body Mondays, Wensdays, and Fridays, and lower Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Sunday is just a resting day. Ok so, am i letting them rest enough?

i think working out a certain muscle group twice a week is enough and you are wright about having one day a week off so your body can relax and repair itself.

Muscles should be worked out about twice a week per group, no matter what they are. they need about 30 hours rest to allow them to repair the damage caused by your workouts.
Your schedule is OK. but add some compound exercises to the routine. they'll really hit multiple groups, and you'll soon see the results.
if you work out your back don't do your biceps, same with chest and triceps. they'll get enough workout on the big muscles. Do you arms on the days that you do the lower body, since most of their exercises don't use the arms you can really hit'em good. i would recommend Saturday this will allow enough rest for Monday's workout.
but working out alone will not get you the results your looking for, you must also have a good diet.
For muscle growth a 40-50-10 % protein-carbohydrate-fat ratio will do good for now, based on your results you'll have to make adjustments over time.
OH YES STAY AWAY FROM THE STEROIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no matter the temptation. in the long run you'll regret doing them. Cancer, liver damage, heart attacks, strokes, erectile malfunctions, blindness and jail time are just some of the thing waiting for you if you do them. .
Oh yeah, the girls don't want a sickly limp man to hang around with, just somthin somthin to think about.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Depends. Are you recovering or are you still sore from the previous work out? It depends on how much weight you are lifting and how fast you recover. You are getting at least one day recovery between working muscle groups so how do you feel? If you are not having any problems then you could be okay. Remember that you grow or get stronger during the recovery not during the lifting. Some take 2 days between training and some only take 1 day off. If you are gaining strength and not losing it then you should be okay.

The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient.
