Because they know it gets people upset. They enjoy the reaction.

About 25 years ago usenet was a popular (among computer science types, anyway) way for groups sharing the same interests to exchange information. People noticed that on occasion there would be posts from someone with a "handle" that appeared only once or twice. The point of the post was to stir up passions about subject that people could become passionate. These folk were called "trolls" because they spent time trolling the usenet groups.

Y!A has its share of trolls, too. The best thing to do? Don't respond, even to point out that the message is from a troll.

I haven't seen anyone post these. I guess people are just curious about the historical Jesus and they are being a little silly. They may also just like the attention, or they are doing it because they know it gets under the skin of others. Just don't bother to reply to these questions, and the askers will stop it eventually.

Please don’t make the mistake of extrapolating the behaviors in this Forum by some persons as representative of the populations of believers or non-believers. What you observe herein is a social aberration of the real populations of these groups. It is both interesting yet sad to see how some will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer.

Why persons think that the anonymity of this Forum grants them a license to ignore common social graces bewilders me. I suspect that these persons would be truly ashamed if their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of some of the things they write herein. Clearly they do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.

Pastor Billy says: sometimes they have another agenda. for example there is a poster called scapegoat he is a homosexual and obviously angry at the Christian Church for it's stance against the homosexual lifestyle he was posting a question on the character of Mary to Joseph after being filled with the holy spirit and giving birth to Jesus.

These people are hurting inside and they don't know it

They find amusement in other peoples' discomfort and anger.
They like the attention, the fact that they hold a little power over other peoples' emotions.

Milomax is right. They just want to get everyone upset in hopes that they will get a reaction. These people think that it is funny. When they are the ones that are being laughed at with these questions.

Good time to practice turning the other cheek. Or saying kind words, 'is heaping hot coals on the enemy' [don't know where that scripture is in the Bible presently]

People post such questions because there is no real information provided ANYWHERE about Jesus.

As a mythical character with no personality, Jesus is a good candidate to have people 'project' their own likes/dislikes or preferred characteristics onto him.

This means that believers are always projecting or assuming positive attributes for a colorless entity entirely devoid of personality. Others, some of whom are quite creative, come up with neutral or even negative characteristics.

When someone has no real persona of their own, they are fair game for such treatment, in my opinion.
