I need to partake in a drug test to get a job as an assistant pharmacy tech.

I recently had major leg surgery on May 2nd. I was placed on Hydrocondone pain medication. Ive been on these for about 4 weeks now and this week Ive stopped them.

Are these considered a drug and show up on my test? Also, how do they perform the drug test?

Thank you

Hydrocodone is considered a controlled substance I think, and the drug test MAY test for it, although they usually only test for illegal drugs. If this is a problem, get a note from your doctor saying that it was prescribed for you, or bring in your prescription bottle if you still have it. Chances are, though, it has already left your system by now.

Drug tests are usually urine tests, taken at a health clinic. However, there are other tests, like hair tests or blood tests.

Yes Hydrocodone is Vicodin. It is an opiate, same class as heroin and WILL show up on a drug screen. Possibly for a couple weeks or more. You need to provide proof of the prescription.
