Recent visit to Aruba my wife swears that she didn't see the moon for 3 days. Clear skies. Could this be true?

there's 7 to 14 days a month you dont see the moon ( the new moon) because its on the sunward side of the earth and hidden by the sun (or you could think of it as out in the daytime)....,,,,,,,,,,so yeah easily true
