Your avatar, definitely.

A lot of names come from the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John for starters.

your avatar. People that name their children those names are trying to give them a very meaningful name. IT is just a name after all. I was named after a guy and well that hasn't changed me. For those who do choose those bibilical names - they have meaning in the same way many people name their kids after family members, it holds some value to them and they want to instill that value to their childrens name or to pay respect. What scares me is that people name their kids their name and then add a numeral to the end of the name.

Thomas, the only apostle with logic enough to doubt unless he has seen first hand. However, I won't give my child a biblical name. I hate my name, Alexander, but at least it doesn't have retired Biblical origins. I will name my sons Gaelic names and my daughters French names, to reflect my heritage and the way the sound, and I am an atheist.

Many of our common modern names are biblical. For example: John (Ian, Hans, Jane, Joan), Mary (Maria, Miriam), Peter, Paul, Luke (Lucas), Andrew, Matthew, David, Jonathan, Martha, Magdalena, Ruth, Leah, Rebecca, Elijah, Zachary, Adam, Jeremy (Jeremiah), Nathan, Joseph, Jacob, et cetera. If folks who name their children after biblical characters scare you, don't leave your house.

It would have to be your avatar because nothing is wrong with people naming their children after the books of the bible or otherwise. That is their business.

I was named after a biblical character, and my mother's not scary. Neither is your avatar. Is there third choice?

That avatar is pretty creepy, but in a good way. I don't care what people name thier kids as long as they take care of them.
