Hi,

I am thinking about getting the Grandmaster Adidas Dobok. Anyone know how good this is. Available on Ebay for under $50. Price seem to be right, not sure about quality. Also considering Nike. Any comment would be appreciated.

Thanks

How unconscionable of Adidas to market and sell a product that alludes to its wearing as being such that mere mortals can be magically transformed into something that they never will be. But how clever too! ("Damn marketing people!")

Mind you @ $50 ($US presumably) I think that would find at minimum an equal a quality of uniform for less if you shop around..

The thing these days of course, is that just because it carries this or that logo the inference is that the product will meet expectation and usage standards. Not always the case unfortunately....

I do not personally wear one at my school, but my Master and the black belts wear those exact uniforms. They are very good in my opinion. Now Adidas just came out with a newer version of the Grandmaster uniform. So you can also look at that one too. Nike makes one too. Not sure what it is called. Maybe the same name. My Master told me those are more thick and heavy duty than the Adidas. And no, you do not need to be a grandmaster. Its just the name for it.

Not familiar with that uniform. I am presuming that the "Grandmaster" term is like "Professional" in other brands ie; referring to a top of the line model. After all, there must be so few real Grandmasters of TKD that they would have a surplus of these Dobok otherwise.

Sure go ahead and buy one and you may even feel like a Grandmaster - but don't let it go to your head.

Shouldn't you be a Grandmaster first, then get the dobok?
