Which of you knows anyone who is gay? I mean really knows someone? Like a sister or brother, friend or parent? Have you ever talked to them to find out the struggles most of them have had? Homosexuality is not a choice. Did you ever know a lesbian to be feminine? Some are, but alot think like men, are task oriented like men and kind of feel like men. I have a very good friend who is gay and very boyish. There is no way she would borrow any of my clothes. She would borrow my husbands if she had to, but not mine. Gay people have different levels of male or female hormones. It's even proven. There are studies everywhere.
How would it look if you were born with one blue eye and one brown eye? The colors don't balance like everyone elses, therefore you must be a sinner. Because someone decided long ago (who never understood biology) that a blue eye and a brown eye are not acceptable in society.
Yes, there are permiscuous homosexuals, but so are alot of straight people. But how many people are criticising sex out of wedlock as loud as they do for gays? If Marriage was legal, alot of gay people would be married. They too believe in the sanctity of marriage. They are just not aloud to do it.
My prayer for the universe is the knowledge and understanding without criticism. Remember what your mother told you. You must walk a mile in someones shoes before you have a right to judge.
My husband was very homophobic, very cruel behind the backs of those. But after meeting my two friends Lori and Jo, he has changed his tune. they love God, their children, their families. Jo is my nanny and loves my two sons like they were her own. God brought them into my life for a reason, and I am thankful. I hope one day you can find that understanding too. Homosexuality is not a choice.

Regardless of your beleaf (forgeting religion) Marrige has always been one man and one woman. In all cultures as far back as there are any written or oral records this in undebatable. Now you ask about the power of the state. The state represents the "morals" of the people. What would you say about a 30 year old woman wanting to marry a 10 year old boy? Or a man wanting to marry sheep? There must be limites regardless of if you like it or not. You speak of the rights of Gays to marry the ones they love, are they willing to accept the rest of the responciblity that goes with that. Allomoney, childsupport, half of everthing, when things go bad. Or do they just want to be accepted as everyone else, when in reality they are not. We can not change a value system because some do not like it.. Example, a group may insit that they do not burry thier dead, but keep them as skelletons in their homes. should the be legal? A group may say they can only achieve true happyness, by beating thier spouse, so what right do you have to denigh them that happenes? You only list one example of the state denighing you the right to marry the one you love, what if...... You love someone who is already married, should the state refues you that right to marry them anyway, if you love someone who is an enfant, should the state refuese you that right, or your sister, or brother? or even mother or father, where do you draw the line?

The law of God is the ultimate law.You guys can do whatever you want with your life.BUT marriage is a state of Holy Matrimony.Blessed by God.It comes from the Bible. And letting Homosexuals marry is against all that is Holy.PERIOD.There are no ifs ands or buts.God will not bless the unholy marriage of the same sex.So drop it.You could get every state in the union to OK gay marriage. But you will still go to hell unless you repent and don't commit the sin again.Think or kid yourself to whatever you want .We are not the ones who will be paying the price on Judgment day. We just are the warning from God above.
God bless and I pray some of you will see the light before that day comes.

Christians do not make the rules on this issue, the politicians do. Yeah, they listen to their constituents but ultimately they do their thing. I live in Canada and gays can marry here. We are suppose to live in a day where we have freedom of speech. It seems that only applies to those who speak what the majority wants. Christians believe in one man one woman marriage concept and will speak this out. You have the right to defend your views. Because I may disagree with you on some issues doesn't mean that I am not compassionate. toward your struggles. As Christians we believe in what the word of God says about marriage and for us to go against it would put us in a position of going against our God. Why is the world making us deny our beliefs, just to go with the crowd?

The Government cannot tell me who I as an individual woman whom I can or annot marry. YET neither would I marry a woman as I am a woman and MY LORD AND SAVIOR GOD CREATOR HAS HAD IT WRITTEN . NOT ONLY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT BUT ALSO IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AND HE ALSO DESTROYED A CITY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT FOR THE SINS OF THOSE whom WERE HAVING SEX AND DOING MUCH MORE THEN HAVING SEX WITH THE SAME SEX> YET IT WAS THIS SINM OF HOMOSEXUALITY THAT MY LORD CHOSE TO PINPOINT IN THIS BOOK OF THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THEN REMINDED US AGAIN IN THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOK OF ROMANS 1; NOW IF ANYONE WANTS TO DENY THE WORD THAT THE LORD THY GOD HAS ALREADY HAD WRITTEN FOR US then YOU go right ahead and do so.
THIS does not make me any MORE RIGHTEOUS OR ANY LESS A SINNER THEN YOU YET I AT LEAST HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT CONDONE A VERY PLAIN AND SIMPLE TRUTH OF WHAT MY LORD GOD AND HIS TRUTH IS ON THIS BIT OF HIS TRUTH!!!!!!!!
IT IS EVIDENT PLAIN AND SIMPLY WRITTEN TAUGHT SAID AND HE HAS ALREADY MADE IT PLAIN ENOUGH TO ME even if not to many others that REFUSE TO believe the WORD HE HAS HAD WRITTEN . CANNOT READ NOR UNDERSTAND ME THINKS.
OH and someone wanted to know about RELATIVES. I do have two NEICES and ONE NEPHEW ONE NEICE is PRACTICING and even HAD A SO CALLED UNION MARRIAGE whatever. the OTHER TO MY KNOWLEDGE IS NOT PRACTICING. as with the NEPHEW LAST I KNEW NO PRACTICING there after deciding to not parctice this anymore. for whatever reason .DO they know how I feel and why YES> and because of this I am not well liked nor thought of . DO I CARE YES after all I still care very much aboutthem all three BUT I REFUSE TO SAY THAT their SIN IS OK when it is so very plain it is not GODS WAY NOR HIS WILL AND HIS PUNISHMENT DOES AND WILL come eventually to all that REFUSE HIS TRUTH when it is made clear what GODS TRUTH IS .THIS is NOT A PROBLEM for me .. IT is a problem for those that deny their wrong doing. IN THIS ACT. JUST AS we all must pay for OUR ACTIONS either now or later. I would rather try to change with the help of HIS SPIRIT TO CHANGE ME . I know I have sinned and I also know death will come someday because of it. YET I ALSO believe in the promises of GOD. so .. I SPEAK what I know to be true IF IT is not believed then so be it. SALVATION IS MINE because of my faith NOT IN SPITE OF IT. BLESSINGS I HAVE HAD and I WILL HAVE MORE IF I LIVE ANOTHER DAY MONTH YEAR> OR YEARS> DOES NOT AT ALL mean I will not have MORE PAIN and WHAT MOST CALL CURSES. YET what is A BLESSING IF WE CANNOT RECOGNIZE them because we never have any PAIN. CURSING. CHASTIZMENTS from that very LORD HAT HAS LOVED US SO MUCH HE HAS GIVEN HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT ABUNDENTLY.
IT MIGHT AND CAN BE CALLED cause and effect.
USED TO be a show. the theme song said this DO THE CRIME PAY THE TIME. well many do the crime and hardly ever do enough of the time if any. DEALS and BRIBES. are the order of the day. FREE TRIALS and INNOCENT TIL PROVEN GUILTY AND ALL THIS MUST BE ALLOWED IN A FREE SOCIETY. SUCH AS OURS> BUT LETTING MURDERS GO FREE FOR CRIMES OF PURPOSELY PLANNED AND CHOSEN OF INNOCENTS NO .. YET ENEMIES EXIST. WARS prove this.

In the book of Genesis, within the first 5 chapters, God created MAN AND WOMAN -- Adam and EVE, not Adam & Steve, to populate the earth.
It is not a "lack of "compassion" on the Christians part, it is the law of God, and it says so in the Bible. God made every animal, people alike, male and female for the purpose of finding a mate and populating the earth.

To impose one's personal convictions on others forcibly is immoral, regardless of which angle it's coming from. Apparently God agrees with this because He gave us the free will to choose to reject Him if we wish. However, may I ask you another question...would you consider it compassionate for someone to knowingly allow another person to follow a path of destruction without at least mentioning it (in an appropriately genuine manner, of course)? The "right" of homosexuals to marry is a socio-political question. Christians may come down on either side of this question with equally legitimate reasoning. However, this is beside the point. It is definitely immoral for a Christian to deny that a wrong is truly a wrong, or that a sin is truly a sin.

I wasn't aware that it was Christianity alone as you put it that
''stripped compassion out of Christianity". I believe you have
mixed up Individual spirituality with partisan politics.

It is not lack of compassion that causes someone to try to prevent someone else from doing something that may be harmful. Rather it is out of compassion that one causes one to help another to avoid a mistake.

Are Christians really the culprit ?
If so I'm sorry. If it makes a difference I hereby give permission to everybody to marry whom they will.
