It is a truly glorious example of Mother Nature. Simply beautiful landscape and colour, and some very unique offerings. It is not surprising the National Trust is protecting many parts of the wilderness in this part of the world.

Tasmania is easily accessible from the mainland, easy for driving around their excellent highways and freeways, one can drive across the island in five hours by the way and there is a plethora of variety depending on what you want to do and see.

Actually, Tasmania ranks quite low on Australian holiday destinations for Australians. Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory all outrank Tasmania. To define it as a "fave" would be drawing a very long bow indeed.

Tasmania is beautiful however most Aussies prefer heading north to Queensland, particularly the Gold Coast with all the theme parks, year round beautiful weather or one of the islands off the coast.

I don't think it is a favourite place for Australians to vacation at!
It's cheaper for Aussies to go to the Philipines, Korea, Japan or even NZ, where the differences are far greater than the lush, green, mountainous areas of Hobart. As far as Queenslanders go, it's cheaper to get a flight to a tropical island than the cold little square at Australia's butt!

Because when he spins really fast he can get away from Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Who wouldn't want to vacation on such a loveable character?
