defiantly man made in my opinion and not just east and west. the world is full of division...

it starts off as a geographical consequence. in some cases the East are ahead of the West and vice versa. Like some of the music in America come out 1-2 years later in countries like India. Later, both sides follow their own path and therefore creating a division.

Neither...its philosophical, religious and racial difference that has divided the West and East.
This still persists today. The orient has made great progress with acceptance in the west, and the west has greatly influenced much in the orient. The Arabic/Islamic nations are worse off now then they were just a decade ago as to this question, and the division grows continually.

I don't believe that there are any insurmountable cultural divisions,bu there must be a will for learning from and respect for at least aspects ofother cultures.
