I used to have one. We found him in our garage and brought him in. He was gorgeous and yes he weighed 25 lbs. His name was Paws because all 4 of his paws were different colors!! unfortunately, we had to give him away because he was very aggressivre towards me and my husband. he was always hissing at us, biting us, and attacking anyone that came in the house. He was litter trained but shortly after getting him he would poop outside the litter box and drag his poopy-fied but all across our carpet. Not nice to clean up. He is now living outside on a farm and is much happier chasing mice!!!

Friends had a Maine Coon and he really lived up to the description for them, Gentle Giants.
He was a huge cat as well.
I have other friends who have two cats and they have some of the Maine Coon traits, as hair tuffs bewteen the toes and extra ear hair. Their coloring is from another kind though.
Very nice cats. It is too bad that this board is blotting out the second part of the name because some people don't know it. I know it is a nasty word in another context but this is referring to a cat. Let's try this, Maine C-o-o-n cat.

We do! We have a 4-year old Maine Coon who has a wonderful personality. He is a brown classic tabby and he weighs 20 pounds. His name is Bonfirecats Merlin Wizardcoon, Merlin for short. And he is definitely a "wizard"! He has everyone under his spell - we are trained to cater to his every whim. Of course he is the "middle child" of the family. We have an older son, Maximus Deciums Meridius, our black Exotic Shorthair, and then there is the "baby", Mr. Melvin McPurr who is only a year old. He is a blue mitted Ragdoll. We love our kitties!!!!!!

Poppy here came from the Humane Society so I doubt she's pure, but I prefer to think that she has MC blood. She has so many of the qualities! The size, the hairy paws and ears, her voice.....

And I do love her to bits.

She used to weigh 25 pounds but I put her on a diet and I'm sure she's lost some weight....just not enough yet.

I have a calico Maine Coon. She weighs 22 lbs and is very loving, sometimes overly much so. She is also very vocal.

Her name is Missy Cat.

I had one. His name was Chuck. He came to our house as a stray and was never very healthy. He was very, very lovable though and always slept on his corner of my pillow.

We live in the country and he was allowed outside. We have a stream on our land and he liked to go by the stream and watch the fish, etc., swim by in the water. He would dip his paws in too to try to catch something.

Unfortunately, because of his poor health, he was always very thin and never reached a good Maine Coon Cat weight.

I have a Maine Coon and he is my baby. He's 4 years old, gray/silver and his name is Greyson. I loves to give hugs, cuddle and fetch little mice like a dog. He's 20lbs and a furball of love.

I swear if he was a man he'd be the PURRRfect man. He likes to cuddle, doesn't complain and listens to all of my problems.

I used to have one. Pepper was his name. A big, beautiful, furry guy with exceptionally furry tufted toes! He would sit on my chest when I was laying down and jam his head up under my chin. He was a great guy.
