We can all collectively smack our foreheads. "OMFG! I never considered such a proposal. You're a genius! GENIUS! You must write a book! I've seen the light and embrace Baby Jesus. Thank you...oh, thank you...my soul at last finds rest...."

It might be fun! :)

Pascal's guess has a common flaw in its good judgment. we're not monkeys - we are biologically categorised by skill of the Linnaeus type equipment as apes. Atheists desire to respond to questions approximately open boards. Now what might desire to I drink? i've got have been given a Rolling Rock in the refrigerator and its warm today - might desire to I drink that?

Look, as I understand it, Blaise Pascal was asked a question, about his belief in God. He replied that logically speaking, there were 4 possibilities: 1) God exists and I believe 2) God exists and I do not believe 3) God does not exist and I believe and 4) God does not exist and I do not believe. Of the 4, option 1 has a positive benefit with Heaven guaranteed. Option 2 has a negative result and one is doomed, doomed, doomed. Option 3 and 4 are neutral in outcome, except of the time wasted in option 3 with a belief. So, to put it into the vernacular, Pascal was simply minimizing his downside risk be having a belief in God. So, what exactly is your problem with Pascal and atheists? The atheist will have only 2 outcomes available since the atheist does not believe, limiting the outcome for the atheist to be only option 2, with a negative result, and option 4 with a neutral result. The atheist assumes the downside risk only eliminating options 1 and 3 by choice, while Pascal embraces the positive is at least a possibility. Faith, as I understand it, is the belief in the absence of proof and is essentially irrational. Is it rational to believe something you are told without evidence or proof of any kind? Of course, it could be argued that God made us all, just the way we are, and since God made us, even with all of our doubt and skepticism, it is his devine plan and therefore, whether we profess a belief or not whatever happens is God's will and therefore preordained and therefore no matter what I do or say, professed atheist or not, saint or sinner, we ALL get to go to Heaven. But then, what do I know? I don't have any proof, EITHER way. As a matter of fact, why not consider more Gods and Heavens and associated Hells? Which God is the true God, Catholic, Protestant, Methodist, Mormon, what? So, I follow the 4 options, with "God" being whatever is the one true God no matter what the faith calls itself. True believers are SO easy...

LMAO!!

Could be very fun.

But can we do it for everyone who claims their way is the one and only true way? Cause you wouldn't believe the one book wonder Wiccans I've met who claim to know it all, and Atheists who are willing to fistfight over it, and so forth.

I smacked my forehead and now there is yellowish fluid coming out of my ears. Is that a bad thing?

OK...BUT I suggest we do this too: end with a link or a very, very subtle reference to the Flying Spaghetti monster.
