I know how to hide it, but I want it gone. I just want to turn it off. Can this be done? There doesn't seem to be any options under the Dock preferences.

This can enable and disable the dock. It's a PowerPC application, but I tried it, and it also works on Intel.

If you download it, you need the Stuffit Expander, (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/stuffitexpander.html) a free app to uncompress more compressed file types.

I accept as true with the 1st individual who replied who implied that Shane-o-Mac is a spotfest galore. Does that make him a greater useful wrestler than JBL, Orton, or Cena? I could desire to declare i do unlike Cena very plenty, yet he does use punishing strikes the the STFU (that's fairly an STF) and possesses some expertise of submission and intense-powered offence. As for JBL and Orton, I accept as true with maximum different answerers that Shane isn't precisely of their league. yet - in terms of leisure, which on the top of the day is what places butts in the seats - i could watch a Shane journey any day over that of John Cena, or any variety of alternative wrestlers his Dad employs. (Snitsky and the super Khali come right this moment to suggestions)

You might take a look at the link below. It gives a link to script to make the dock very very tiny. (Avoid potentially dangerous alterations this way.) After loading the page, do a find for the string "KnockOutDock"

You can "hide it" in preferences, but then, if you really want to remove it - totally, completely, you have to go into your Terminal area.

You can find it on Google, but be very careful, and be sure this is what you really want to do.

And that you have the patience to do it correctly, neatly AND following the directions. :)
