you start getting paid anywhere from 6-8 weeks after reporting to Boot Camp.

now.. be aware that this is base pay ONLY. Any bonuses you have gotten do NOT get paid until after your complete the requirements.. anything from Boot Camp to all schooling.

so if you gota sign on bonus, you get it after Boot camp(after requesting it from Finance,m they do NOT come automatically). If you got a job bonus, you will not get that until after you complete the training and report to your duty station.

expect 28% off the top for taxes, and half up front and the rest distributed over the length of your contract.

You will be paid your base salary while you're in boot camp. Your enlistment bonus won't be paid until you get orders for your first permanent duty station. My son DEP'd in July 2003, left for boot camp July 2004, graduated boot in Octoer 2004, went to A-school and C-school.. and got his permanent duty station in January 2006. That's when he got his bonus check.

All the details should be clearly spelled out in your enlistment contract. And remember, no matter what your recruiter may have promised, if it's not on paper you probably aren't getting it.
