My daughter has finally outgrown her infant car seat. I am thinking about buying the britax decathlon car seat. Anyone have any opinions on this seat? recommend another seat?

Go for the Britax! I love all of mine. We have 3 kids, and they have been the BEST seats ever. You can use it rear facing until your baby girl is a year old/the proper weight, then turn it around and use it until she weighs 65 pounds! My oldest is 4 years old and he's still in his. They are worth every penny. And the seat covers CAN be removed and washed using the gentle cycle in your washer, then air dry the cover. Britax is my fave!! Go for the Decathlon! It's the LAST seat you'll buy for years!!

We have a marathon, same shell as Decathalon just not as luxurious :). I love it. Since babies should stay rear facing AS LONG AS POSSIBLE (not just to 1 year/20lbs which is the bare minimum for when you can turn them around) Britax seats are great because they rear face until 33lbs. And then forward face to 65lbs, plus they have high shoulder slots, unlike lots of the other cheap seats (most seats at Walmart don't have slots higher than 15.5 inches, Marathon/Decathalon/Boulevard top slot is 17"). This helps your child be able to use it longer. Also, the built-in lockoffs are one of the best features a car seat can have. No more locking clips!! Britax is also one of the few car seats that can be tethered even in the rear facing position, adding additional security to the seat.
Go for it! check them out at online retailers, most of them do free shipping for purchases over $100.
