heres the situation. a member of my family talks to a councilor about a problem that had involved me. now the professional wants me to come in. i didnt want to so my parents are tellin me if i dont go she is goin to call the authorities and something bad will happen to me.. is that legal? can the councilor really do that? isnt it a privacy issue on what she hears in the meetings?

If you did anything that would make anyone believe you might harm yourself or someone else; if you threatened this other person, they can do it.

If the situation involved something illegal that happened, the authorities will probably be contacted. If you have not committed any crime then you don't have much to worry about. On the other hand, if you are a victim, then you have to decided what is best for you. The line of privacy get shortened when there is a crime involved.

there aint no way they can do that for not coming in thats like so weird, but if you are like doing something illegal and your family member told the psychiatrist then i guess they could call the cops but probably not!

depends on what the issue is. harming yourself or someone else? yes, she can do that. otherwise, no because of HIPPA. there are also some things that she may have to report (like abuse) if you tell her that.

i think they can call the authorities i dont know for sure. i would not want to go because i think psychiatry is a fraud. i would try all i could to not go.
