My mom says not to sit at the bottom of the pool because of annual prolapse. What is annual prolapse and should I listen to her?

Does she mean anal prolapse? This is where part of the rectum, the last part of the intestine, protrudes through the anal opening. I suppose that when sitting on the bottom of the pool, water pressure acting on the abdominal wall could increase intra-abdominal pressure enough to cause the rectum to prolapse. I think one would have to have a pre-existing abnormality for this to happen, and I think the occurrence to be rare. Just my opinion.

Anal prolapse is when your rectum sack comes out of your body, I'm not sure how sitting on the bottom of the pool will make it come out, but you should just get the answer from the Doctor. I highly doubt that it would happen because of the pool. Good Luck!!
