How do I get my 15mth. old to eat veggies? She used to love them, now wants nothing to do with them.

Let her dip them. Babies looove to dip! Hummus, salad dressing, yogurt etc...

My son loves Artichokes because he gets to dip them in sauce!

Also try hiding them in things. Like if she will eat pasta, cook some broccoli in the water until it crumbles and sticks to the noodles. Or put tiny chopped up veggies in spaghetti sauce etc...

My son went through this at about that age. Like your daughter, he loved veggies when he first learned to eat. But it seemed that right when he figured out chewing, he wanted to move onto new tastes and textures. I realized I needed to keep changing things up. Chances are you are trying the same veggies over and over- kids can get bored, too! So maybe try to prepare them differently, offer new dips (like others suggested) or even trying different veggies.

The other thing to note is that it might just be a phase. At this age, she's learning what she can be in control of, and that doesn't include very much. BUT- she can control what she eats. Chances are she's just enjoying the "power" and she'll go back to where she was in a couple of months. You seem to have gotten to a good start shaping her taste buds, so she will most likely come back to it. (My son went for a two month stretch where he only wanted oatmeal, pretty much three meals a day, because he liked spooning it. Now he's back to his normal self, shoveling brocolli, carrots, green beans, snap peas, edamame, etc. by the fist full...)

I like the other ideas- melting cheese, offering a dip like hummus or yogurt, and offering the veggies first. But, ultimately, you really can't force a child her age to eat. She's not being defiant, and she's not being gluttonous. If the same behavior continues when she's closer to two, then you can try reasoning or talking her through it. But for now, just continue to offer them, eat them yourself in front of her, and don't create a battle at the dinner table just yet...

Hope that helps!

I have to give my 14 month old her veggies first with lunch and dinner. if she tastes the other food first, then she does not want the vegetables. But if she has them first, she will usually eat all (or at least most) of them. After she is done with the veggies, I put something else on her plate/tray. So far, it is still working pretty well.

Keep spooning them too her or try out different brands of veggiess your giving her or maybe give her other types of veggies that your feeding her now...You can also mix veggies in with other foods so she would still be eating them thinking its something else.

You have received some good answers so far. If all else fails, buy some baby food and mix it in with things like mac 'n' cheese or spaghetti or whatever your child will eat. Another idea (that your child may still be too young for but it may work) is the reverse psychology thing where you tell them they won't like it and it's only for mommy and/or daddy!

I'm not a parent, so I really have no experience. But I wonder if you were to eat them infront of her often, if she would eventually want to mimic you. Maybe introduce her to some different veggies that she has never tried before??

just keep trying. my kids like raw veggies better than cooked. try a variety. peppers are very sweet and kids usually like them. carrots are the same way. just keep trying!!!!

although all of my kids like veggies, when my oldest was 2 we went to the mall and she asks me "mom can i have some green peppers" the lady at the store could not beive a child that young would actually ask for veggies.

Just keep offering them to her, kids can be trusted at that age to eat a fairly good variety of foods in healthy amounts as long as the foods are always available. Hope this helps! :)
