I was tinkering with keyboard shortcuts and accidently programmed the key for open and close quotes. It now produces ("") when I press the shift key when it should just yield ("). I tried to repair it but repairing brought me more complicated issues!

Remove a shortcut key from a command or other item
On the Tools menu, click Customize.


Click Keyboard.


In the Save changes in box, click the current document name or template that contains the command or other item you want to remove.


In the Categories box, click the category that contains the command or other item.


In the box to the right, click the command or other item.


In the Current keys box, click the shortcut key you want to delete.


Click Remove.
