Because I heard somewhere that getting your hair removed that way damages the hair follicals. I was planning on getting my legs done.

IF DERMATOLOGISTS WHO DID IT DAILY BELIEVED SKIN CANCER COULD RESULT FROM IT THEY WOULDN'T DO IT.

Skin cancer is caused by UV radiation. The localized trauma from the laser treatment (it hurts!) can rarely bring out a previously asymptomatic cancer, but it won't cause it.

As for damaging the hair follicles - that's how the hair removal works. By destroying the follicles, it inhibits or eliminates the ability to produce hair. That's what you want.
