I got some shampoo from the vet to treat ringworm (2 baths per week) on my kitten (5 months old). She was covered with it... glowed like crazy under the black light. After 3 weeks (in quarantine) it has cleared up everywhere but the tips of her ears and a couple little spots near the edge on the inside of her ears. Instead of continuing the baths on her whole body when she only has it on the ears, can I just use Lamisil spray? It works great on humans but is it safe for cats? Or should I continue with the baths and use the Lamisil on her ears too.

I had a two cats with ringworm that would not go away. The vet told me to use a human ringworm cream. I'm sorry I can't remember which one but you have to use the right one or it will hurt the kitty. Call your vet and ask which one. The closest thing I can tell you is I got the Equate brand at Wal-Mart.

One thing I remember 100% is do not use hydrocortizone cream on ringworm as this will make it worse.

i would use Lamisil cream. The spray might get in it's eyes.

Another thing that works great for ringworm on animals, and this sound really odd but it works, is horse wormer!

I had a dog with a ringworm spot. I was at the local feed store and was looking at their animal/pet medications. They had nothing for ringworm but the owner suggested I try the horse wormer and it worked great.

Never use products intended for human use on animals. Continue the treatment intended for the kitten under a vets supervision. If you are not happy with the result-go back. The veterinarian will have a solution to this problem. Best Wishes

I wouldn't use the spray because it is too close to the eyes and you won't have enough control. I have used the cream on cats and kittens and it worked just fine. Good luck!

No No No Lamisil is not safe for cats. Call the vet and ask him if he has a treatment for just her ears. Lamisil will probably kill it.

No. It is too strong for a kitten. I think it's time for a second trip to the vet.

Just stick with the baths--don't take a risk.
