Okay two days ago I asked a question about if a guy I work with is interested in me or not, if you get a chance read the question maybe it'll help with an answer to this.

Me and him were trying to make plans for Friday. He told me to text him today to confirm plans, and when I did he texted me saying that he doesnt think it'd be in his best interest to come, that his girlfriend, (Who he plans on breaking up with, I heard from one of his good friends) wouldnt like it.

Then after I texted him back, because I was obviously kind of upset, saying "Okay, well then I guess we dont hang out."

He texts me back almost right away saying, "We'll hang out someother time, Go to dinner or something."

What does this mean, is he genuinely interested or if he just stringing me along?

Just to be clear, I have known him for 3 years.

and I have a bf too. So it's not like I'm just waiting around for him.

Well, I'm a guy so I might be able to help you out. From what it looks like, he's being careful about not letting his girlfriend think he's cheating on her. He probably wants to break up with her cleanly, and doesn't want to hurt her emotionally by being found with another woman before the relationship is over.

They get shot out for a variety of reasons. I think most often because the person asking the question has a preconceived answer and doesn't want to hear other opinions. After that there is a posse that seems to be growing who don't like to be told that questions are in the wrong category and really don't give much more advice other than "re post in where you might get better answers." Some of us have "followings" who just want to TD everything we write no matter how well versed. A while back I was guilty of the "automatic TD" when I hovered over the icon and my mouse seemed to auto click. I edited my answer with an apology to the answerer. (Which I recall was an excellent response.) In general I avoid the TU/TD, but am much more likely to go thumbs up ... Very rarely do I employ Caesar's "kill the gladiator" pose.

It sounds to me like you both have a spare waiting in the wings , just on the outside chance that things don't pan out between you and this guy you text- message to all the time. Why would either of you care about your relationship, when you each have someone else you see? This whole thing would be enough to send me around the bend. Good luck to you both.

Hmmmm.... I say wait if you want to. He could be telling you the truth. maybe he has a reason for not breaking it off with her yet and he wanted to hang out with you to get to know you but knew it would be a huge issue. At the same time I don't think it would be a good idea to rush anything with someone who has just ended another relationship so if you are interested I say take it slowly.

Just how big of a rock needs to hit you in the head? You really can't be this naive, can you?

He doesn't want to break up with his girlfriend, he just wants to use you to cheat on her...you know use you for cheap sex. When he can find a day that his girlfriend is away or occupied, he will hook up you. Until then you have to wait for your turn. Are you so desperate that you want to date a cheater? You have to know he will just turn around and cheat on you too.

He has a girlfriend!!!!!!

Wow your "additional details" only make you sound worse. Way to make yourself look completely bad.

why be with his girlfriend if he doesnt still love her??...they probably have had some problems for awhile and is telling his buddies that hes sick of it and wants to break up...then something happens and him and his girl make up ...he's is playing you and gettting attention from you so im sure it makes to him feel better about himself....lets face it..texing is so impersonal and secrective anyway, so who cares if he texed you back...means nothing...if he really liked you he woudlnt have even tried making plans with you to begin with until he was already broken up with her... and face it, if you ended up going on a date with him even a couple times and you found out you really liked him...what do you think would happen if him and his girl makeup...SEE YA!! and your heartbroken... besides the fact he would have already shown you hes capable of cheating...and thats no good!

He's interested in you. He just got afraid that in the txt, you sent him, you were saying "Fine then don't talk to me" he knows he made you upset he wants to be with you, don't give up on him. But if you two continue to make plans and he keeps breaking them, and doesn't break up with his GF then you need to drop him and move on.

To be honest girl... he said that to not hurt your feelings... he is to weak to actually tell you that he's not interested cuz he has a girlfriend. Even if they ARE gonna break up... its apparently moraly wrong for him to see other women on the side.... he sounds like a loser.. let him go!

Sounds like he's interested.. he just doesn't want to get in trouble with his girlfriend. Can you even be sure that they are breaking up?

It sounds like he wants to take you out but he is confused between you and his current gf. Just play it cool for a couple of days and see what he does. Good Luck.
