The Corps has enlisted commissioning programs. Your chain of command will be able to assist you if you show officer potential as an enlisted. You will have to serve as an enlisted for at least a few years, though.

The Corps loves to grow their own; the officers I have the most respect for are those that served as enlisted.

If you haven't gone to boot camp, check with your recruiter or look up officer opportunities on line.

If you are already active and through bootcamp, you'll have to be the best marine you can be. Keep your evaluations at 4.0. You can become an officer from an enlisted man, but you have to look into things too and get the right people looking out for you. You'll also have to make the requests for OCS training. Others might have better information, but that's what I learned when I was in.

No, there are no 2 365 days enlistments 2. in case you enlist on energetic duty, you will serve 4 years on energetic duty as enlisted, then you definately can separate and pass decrease back to varsity employing the GI invoice , earn a level and persist with for OCS 3. or you are able to enlist contained in the reserves and pass to varsity on an analogous time, yet you will could desire to pay for college 4. The Marine Corps has a enlisted commissioning software - yet you are able to desire to be a corporal or a sgt in the previous utilizing ( ninety% are sgts ) so as which ability a minimum of four years of energetic duty provider. yet that software is very aggressive, with in ordinary terms around a hundred marines each and every 365 days chosen.

Do your best in the 4 years and take college classes in military science. This can be used for when you get out and go to college full time for 4 years (or less with those military science classes) then sign up for OCS training. You'll be there within about 7 or 8 years but you'll have more experience than 90% of the Marine officers sense they didn't go through regular Marine training.

I believe you are going at it the wrong way. Have you finished your under graduate studies in college? Do you have a sponsor , like a sgt/mjr or commanding officer who will recommend you for OCS. I don't believe that becoming a mustang in the Marine Corps is quite as easy as the army.

The Marines prefer their officers from Annapolis, or fresh out of OCS. They prefer that 2nd lieutenants have a bachelor degree, minimum, and display good leadership skills. So far, are you with me.

Just remember, more rank means more pay, but also more responsibility. You have a lot of competition for this job. Are you up for it ?

Look into the MECEP program. I applied when I was a Cpl (3 years in) and am now a Sgt attending the University of Florida while maintaining active duty status. You go to a university as a duty station and receive your commission once you graduate. I think you have to be in for a year or two as a minimum requirement, but as you can tell its an awesome deal. If you're not eligible for the MECEP program, you can attend the BOOST program for a year, which just prepares you for MECEP. Go to usmc.mil and read MARADMIN 191/07 for details. BOOST also has a MARADMIN #, if you want to look it up. Its a long process, the board goes once a year and is very competitive. If you don't get accepted your first try, then try again the next year.

You're kinda screwed already, it's almost impossible to go from enlisted to officer unless you do something really amzing. You get to be an officer if you've gone to college or whatever, so try to get a degree, but it might be too late...
