I know the pronunciation from taking Spanish classes as a teenager, but that was over 20 years ago and I need to re-learn the vocabulary, nouns and verb tenses.
(I still remember the syntax and grammer..)

I have been teaching myself Spanish online for over a year now and paying ZERO money! And you are not going to believe the website I use. Wikipedia.

Yes. Many many articles on Wikipedia are translated into Spanish. I find an article and I just study the two versions side by side and I can tell, based on my growing understanding of the language, how close the translation is.

In my world of free Spanish classes I also buy my favorite DVDs and I check to see if they have a Spanish LANGUAGE track and I can listen to the English Version and then listen to the SPANISH version!

This is incredibly helpful.

Then I try out my newest sentences on the man who sells me a burrito and my local taqueria -- he smiles and HELPS me.

It's really fun and I am IMPROVING.

Best of all I get to create my own midterms and the man at the taqueria also quizzes me a bit.

I must confess I honestly find this method the best because I choose my own articles and movies and songs to learn from.

This is the best answer to learning Spanish at your own pace. And remember, any Spanish speakers near you are DELIGHTED to watch you improve at your own pace.

It depends on what kind of education level you're aiming for. I know many universities, high schools offer online Spanish Classes or what they call "challenge the grade". What that is, is you hire your own tutor, and then you take a test to pass the level.

Other than that, you should look up on the internet for classes, or hire a personal tutor.

I'm actively building a practice site, www.languageexercise.com, but it only gives exercises. If you need things explained, studyspanish.com.
