I have ADHD and I have taken Cymbalta, Adderall XR, and currently I'm on Paxil. All three have helped tremendously with my ADHD.

I do not think that I have ever heard of them being considered anti-depressants or using anti-depressants to treat ADD. But I use to take Ritalin, then I choose to go off it and teach myself to stay calm and concentrate better on what I am doing. And now I have not been on the meds for eight years. And I still have moments but I have myself under control much better.

But, Ritalin worked great for me. My mom had tried Ginko Boloba(Spelling?) on me but I had bad side affects. You can try that for a more herbal approach to things. Hope this helps!

Anti-depressants are not used to treat ADD/ADHD. ADD patients who take anti-depressants are taking them for depression.

Dexedrine is the drug of cure for me. It makes me feel normal and I am not sluggish and tired like I was on Cymbalta, Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Lexapro.
