Never been "Muskie Fishin", but I caught one once. Was fishing for walley, when a small muskie came through - I didn't know what a muskie was at the time. My fishing partner groaned and said we wouldn't catch anymore fish with that muskie in the area. I spun in my seat and said "I'll just catch him and get him out of the way."
I cast ONE TIME and must've hit him in the head, because he took it to the bottom of the lake... and just stayed there a few minutes. Well, he was all of 24", and was fun on my Zebco 33 with 10 pound line and a #6 hook....:)

I use baby carp that are around three inches in length. And gold spinner blades, with orange beads. I make my own rig set up rather than buying a pre-made one. And I troll for the musky close to the shore. And leave the drag set real loose so when they hit and run. They don't spit out the bait.

When i do go muskie fishing. I like to use either a 6 inch live craw fish or large minnows about 5-6 inches long. and i usually will use this in area that have a lot of logs or sea weed.

My favorite lure is the hydra fishing lure, I've never used a lure quite lke this one but it can also catch you bass, trout, northern pike, and walleye too. It looks lifelike and I've caught my share of fish on it.
