I have a 93 crown vic, it is reving high when i hit 30mph and will not kick back down. If it sits overnight and I go out in the morning then it is fine, until I reach 30mph. We have changed the Throttle position sensor, check for vacumm leaks and also check the kick down cable. We are lost.
Any one have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

this does sound like a transmission problem. my question is, is it shifting gears. almost sounds like the vacuum modulator is either bad or has no vacuum going to it. what happens is the transmission uses engine vacuum to properly shift gears. when you say it rpm's are high at 30 tells me that its not shifting. the only other way it shifts is by the governor and then you have to rev right through it which isnt good. crawl under the car and look for a vacuum line going to the trans, while its running see if there is vacuum there, if it is good chance its the modulator.....good luck

Be a little more specific please. Does the engine keep revving at 30 mph like it's not shifting, or does the car shift and the engine rpms stay high, like even at the next stop light?
This will help identify the area of the concern, be it engine or trans.

sounds like the transmission. try transtune and change the transmission fluid and filter. if still doing same thing take to transmission shop and let them test it. most shops will test it for free.
