I love you. You may join in my love if you lead the perfect life. If you slip you may burn animals. No need to burn animals, I'll just send my only son to die for you. You still don't love me?

BURN!!!!!!

I just don't get how you can love this guy.

"How can you love someone who tells you to RUN hard away from the ONLY ONE who can give you any hope????? You are following a LOSER!!!!!"

Just because you yell doesn't mean you make any sense. I follow myself. Me, my parents, my friends all give me hope, and I don't run from them. Guess you wrong!!!!

How many times does God have to prove He loves you before you'll get it? You slip up, He gives you a way out of it so you can still go to Heaven. He never had to do any of that, He did because He loves us. When animal sacrifice was not enough to cover up everything anymore, He provided a sacrifice than can do the job. He loves you so much that He willingly sent His own Son to pay for your mistakes.

Turn your nose up at all that, and all you're going to get is what every human deserves in the first place. Not an eternal lake of fire, that's reserved for the Devil and the other fallen angels. Your Hell will not be nearly so hot, but it will be a place to sit and ponder your own foolish choices for the rest of eternity.

Therein lies the problem.

It has to do with holiness. With the holiness of God; and an incompatibility for, and with, sin. There are untold multitudes today (the majority, if Christ's flock is a little one, as the Word of God proclaims) who "follow" Christ, or God, because they want a ticket out of hell.

They dance and prance in their churches; sell tickets and trade religious goods for money - just like the money changers (whom Christ whipped from the holy precincts of the house of God); they profane the Lord's day in shopping malls and restaurants; and take part in "Christian" surrogates of worldy activities ...

They accomodate Christianity to fit their love of the world, and call themselves Holy.

Those who love holiness, find it easy - a pleasurable thing - to distance themselves from the amusements and lifestyles of the world at large. No one - No ONE - leads a perfect life (as you attempt to state above), but the true Christian delights to TRY.

The bulk of church-goers, tend church out of fear of hell; fear of upsetting God; and they cannot even honour the Lord's Day - the Sunday - without polluting it. It is exactly what you say:

If it is done just because the alternative is to "Burn" - then they neither worship God, nor love him, all their religious activities notwithstanding.

Yes, God does "love" ... and the display of that love is that he has sent, a part of himself - Christ - to this earth, to save those who want that love more than anything else in the world.
When someone wants that holiness, that love, more than anything else - They want nothing to do with the feel-good filth that satisfies the animal lusts of this world.

The "burning in hell" aspect does not even enter into it, to a godly person.

How can you worship and love someone that says ... ? Because you love what that "someone" stands for; what that "someone" represents.

I do not know if the above will help you to "get" it, but the explanation is found in a love of holiness; a love for all the qualities that God is distinguished by.
