A quote costs nothing. You will get more stuff in the mail but it's not so bad. What you may not know is that most insurance companies use your credit report as a factor. The lower your score, the higher your premium. The other problem that exists is that every time they pull up your credit report, your score goes down. In some states there are insurance pools, a good agent can give you those prices as well. If you are not insured now and have never been, then you will be paying more money. I am making the assumption that this is your case.

Yes, you will get email and mail. That's why they want your information. They can also call you on the phone because asking them for a quote gives them permission to telemarket you. And they make extra money by selling your name and address to others. But so does your local agent, so you really can't win.
