What is the normal size of the thyroid?

I would like to know thyroid dimensions in normal patients and in those with thyroiditis. Thanks!

A normal thyroid is usually 4 - 4.8 x 1.0 - 1.8 x 0.8 - 1.6cm In the case of someone with thyroiditis, the size can increase up to 4 times what is normal.
