What do you think when you see comments like this posted here?

Myself, it kinda makes me think 'And they say atheists are depressed?!' I mean, c'mon, praying for the deaths of billions? That's gotta be about as dark as it gets. What are your thoughts when you see these types of comments?

It really is a bit scary. I worry about those who would love to set off "Armageddon". I see people rooting for war.

The director whom my department fall under is a fundie. When I first met him, on my first day for this company, he says "I don't care much for women in the workplace but John says you have some skills, so I guess that will be alright for now. We have secretary posts opening up all the time, so maybe we can slot you into something more fitting".

Ah! yes I can't wait for the rapture. When the morons of the world will unite and bugger off.

Falco - the only believeing in fighting against people who are fighting for a belief in a god that is not theirs. They are all for the spread of Christianity through any means necessary.

Yeah - anyone who can pray for the deaths of billions just to get validation of their god's authority...pardon me, but I thought the Western nations were supposed to be FIGHTING people prepared to kill for their god's supremacy? Did I miss something here? That rather annoys me, and the fact that some people are actively WORKING to achieve their Armageddon is just slapworthy.

On the other hand, I do also get that "See ya bye...don't led the clouds hit you in the a*s on the way up" feeling

Oy vey.

Just this morning I had a mini-epiphany. I had read yet another question about how atheists lives are pointless since we don't believe in god.

That led me to think that some religious types believe that their only purpose in life is to be tested for purity and then to die.

So the reason for life is death?

That's when it struck me: Yep, I'm right to be an atheist.

Makes me think of that Adam Sandler movie where he gets the remote control from Christopher Walken. I know life is tough and all, but life is a gift from God. No one knows when the rapture will come, so why not concern ourselves with what life we have today instead of concerning ourselves with what will occur in the future.

What do you mean? I'm not a Christian and I'm looking forward to the rapture!

After they clear up the accidents, traffic will be WAY better. Oh, and further military adventures in the middle-East will be off the table!

I'd tell them "the rapture was last week, you missed it, don't you read the papers?".
