Depends on the State and juristiction..... I know in California you can have done some drugs in your past but you have to have been clean for at least 2 or 3 years before you apply and the Drug Test they give you will show how long its been.... Just be honest and you should be fine..... Good Luck sweetie!

Be completely honest. If you only experimented as a teen with minor drugs, depending on the agency, they will probably let it slide. They don't expect everyone to be complete choir boys. As long as it was experimental, a minor drug and definitely in the past (several number of years must have past since the last time) you probably won't have a problem.

If you want to work in Narcotics, they prolly want you to say yes because of your experience. They might see your drug use as an asset actually. You know what to expect first-hand if someone is high.
Now if you say, "uh, i use yah like everyday!" then you probably won't get hired. Make sure you let your interviewer know that your use is past tense.
I know that cops are just troublemakers who want to be on the right side of the law when they decide to break it. The interviewer will NOT look down on you because of this.

Be honest about it. Answer the question. It may be a black mark that you used to use illegal drugs, but it isn't a deal breaker by itself in most cases. However, if you lie about it and they find out you lied, well, that IS a deal breaker. There are certain occupations that those of us in the general population think are a cut above average, with other people's lives in their hands, and using drugs is just not acceptable in certain occupations, like police, fire fighting, airline pilot, submarine sailor, and many many more. If you lie, how can I ever trust you to uphold the law?

Be honest, they will give you a poloygraph. So if they find you lying that will prevent you from getting hired.
Tell them, ya I tried in when I was a teen, but have not since.
Simple answer, it will NOT prevent you from being hired, lying however would.
Good Luck

Tell the truth, no matter what. A lot of times they are not necessarily looking for someone who has never done anything illegal (that would be a very short list), but rather if you are willing to be honest about it. Never, NEVER, lie. If they give you a polygraph, it will probably show up. Be honest from the start.

If you smoked once in your basement by yourself, didn't inhale, and there's zero chance anyone will ever find out different, then lie about it. Otherwise tell the truth.

Be honest. Because if you admit drug use, you may still get the job. If they catch you in a lie, you won't get the job and they may share the fact that you lied with other police departments.

Well you should tell them you smoked when you were a teen, since you stated you do not do it anymore. Remember honesty is the best policy... especially in this line of work.

I'm sure most cops also smoked. You can say you tried it once at a party, but didn't like it and haven't done it since. If they ask how old you were, tell them.
