hi has anyone heard of this religon?

It is not a seperate religion-part of Hinduism..It is one of the names of GOD---Swami=God-master-lord-Naaraayana(Sanskrit)-( corrupted in Hindi-one of 18 Indian languages-is Narayan) -Narayana is Vishnu(derived from Vaasyam=the all pervasive God)-recently it has been turned into a "Cult" like ISKCON-Raadhaaswami cult etc..The word Naraayana is missing in posting)

It's not a separate religion but instead is a sect of Hinduism, just like the many sects of Christianity, Islam, etc.

Part of their beliefs are building very grand temples.

You know, we have a sign here on the highway that says there's one of those religion's temples close by. This is a really rural farm area, so I have no idea who actually goes there. But apparently, it's for real.
